Berlin, April 2, 2024 - The scent of weed was in the air as 1,500 people gathered in front of the Brandenburg Gate to celebrate a historic event: the legalization of cannabis in Germany!
Black market over, regulation here!
From now on, adults over 18 can grow up to three cannabis plants at home and possess up to 25 grams. Enough to enjoy a joint in peace!
And for the social ones?
"Cannabis Clubs" will open in July, allowing 500 members to share the cultivation and harvest. A good way to make new friends and try new strains!
Medical cannabis on the rise
The new system will simplify access to medical cannabis, great news for patients who need it.
Europe turns green
Germany is not the only country opening up to legalization. Malta and Luxembourg have already taken the step, and other countries like the Netherlands and Switzerland are running pilot programs.
A promising future
Germany is preparing to explore a "second pillar" of legalization, with pilot projects for the commercial sale of cannabis. A step towards a regulated European cannabis market?
Whether you are an occasional consumer or a staunch advocate for legalization, one thing is for sure: Germany has paved the way for a greener future!
Stay tuned for the next steps in this cannabis adventure!
